Puddles of Paint Weekend Workshop

Who:  YOU!
What:
Two full days of painting fun.
Where:  The Garden Club (Stockbridge, GA)
When:  April 14-15, 2012
Why:  Because you know you want to and we'd love to have you!!

Enjoy Tole and One Stroke decorative painting classes all weekend long.

It's Included!  Classes, Surfaces, Packets, Acrylic Paints, and more!

Come and paint with Susan Kelley and Linda McCormick at our local workshop in Stockbridge, Georgia.  Two full days of painting classes with projects back to back.  So much to paint.... so little time!  Bring your brushes and a shirt to paint in, and join us for this fun-filled event.  We provide the prepped surfaces, shared paints, water basins, basic supplies *plus* a yummy continental breakfast and delicious lunch.

Paint and take home all the projects you see above.
Day 1:
Season Greeters wooden sign with four seasonal hangables --  Brush up on your basic tole painting skills or learn as you go.  Techniques include basecoating, linework, detailing, drybrushing, and floating.
Pretty Violets painted on a round box -- Get your feet wet with this beginner One Stroke project.  Learn faux finishing, doubleloading, and that ever popular "wiggle leaf".
Day 2:
Beautiful Hibiscus painted on tin -- You'll find that everyone stops chatting and starts focusing when we begin this One Stroke class!  No one wants to miss practicing these special strokes to create the perfect flower petals.
Watermelon Wooden Bowl -- A fun and easy project to work on while practicing several techniques such as strokework, doubleloading and floating.
Rosebuds and Wisteria -- A favorite of everyone.  Practice painting these simple strokes on mat board and take home a frame-able piece.
Day ?:
Summer Heart Pin -- This project is reserved especially for that block of time during our workshop when everyone finishes up sooner than we anticipate.  Whether it is on Saturday or on Sunday, we will try to squeeze this fun little pin ... in... but if we don't have time, you get to take it home to paint along with the packet instructions.

TOTAL COST:  $200 for *everything*!
(We accept Paypal, Credit Card, Check, or Money Order -- and split payments too!)

Little Details:

  • Classes begin promptly at 9:00 a.m.  Doors open at 8:15 a.m. for meet, greet, and eat!  Normally we end the day around 5:00 p.m.
  • If we cancel the workshop for any reason, you will receive a full refund.
  • If you have to cancel after we have reserved your spot, we will issue a refund to you minus the deposit ($50).
  • Breakfast, lunch and drinks are provided; however if you require a special diet, please bring your own.  Refrigerator and microwave are available.
  • Smoking is permitted outdoors.
  • Dress code is "casual and comfy" so please dress accordingly... and bring a sweater, Linda has hot flashes and keeps it cool in there!
  • Although we try to match each surface to exactly what you see in the pictures, sometimes we have to adjust surfaces based on availability... so surfaces may vary but are all included  :)
  • Final results of each project will vary based on your skill level and painting ability.  We will provide an adequate learning environment along with friendly and informative classes.  We are happy to provide some one-on-one assistance when needed.  Each class is carefully structured and timed to ensure completion of all projects.  We normally use lunchtime and breaks as "extra learning time" if anyone needs a little more help with something.
  • A complete brush and supply list (of items you need to bring) is available upon registration.  If you need the brush list before you commit to the workshop, just email us.
  • Since we often use small windows of time throughout the two days for practice sessions, discussions, and little extras, it is recommended that you take both days of the workshop to receive the maximum learning experience.  However, if you prefer to take just one day instead... please feel free.
